Intern for Support/DevOps/

We are recruiting for a full-time Web Developer to join UW-IT, the central IT organization for the University of Washington, responsible for providing essential information technology resources and support to all three campuses (Seattle, Bothell and Tacoma), the UW Medical Centers, and research operations around the world. 

As Web Developer, you will be responsible for managing the IT Connect website, which provides UW students, faculty and staff with information about the rich array of IT resources available to support their learning, teaching, administration and research. You will use your Web and content management system (CMS) skills to maintain and continually improve the site, and work with subject matter experts to create, develop and update the content. 

You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, partnering with UW-IT leadership and staff throughout the organization and across the University, serving a diverse population. 

You will develop, maintain and continually improve the IT Connect website to ensure it is easy to use, informative, accessible, responsive, up-to-date and aligned with University branding and messaging. You will track site analytics to make sure the most used and needed information is readily available. You will work with UW-IT staff to create, maintain and update content and site architecture as technologies and services change. 

You also will serve as an advocate for accessible Web design among UW Web developers, keeping up with the latest in accessibility, usability and responsive Web design, and exploring how new technologies could be used to meet UW-IT and UW’s needs. 

As a member of UW-IT’s Communications team, you will work closely with other skilled communicators to improve our other external and internal websites. You will be involved in managing and developing UW-IT’s social media presence, working with Communications team staff. This position may also serve as a Public Information Officer for UW-IT’s emergency response center. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technologies or related degree program 
  • Minimum of four years experience with Web technologies, development and maintenance 
  • Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, including producing technical documentation 
  • Proven ability to build strong client and partner relationships and collaborate effectively with a diverse set of individuals
