What’s Special About Seattle Central’s Database Administration Program?

Students in this IT program share many core classes with students in the Programming, Application Support, and Web Development programs.  In order to focus on and to build generalizable skills, the program is explores both open source and vendor specific technologies.  Three database classes round out the program, giving students a strong, project-based and hands-on learning experience.

Consider the database design & administration program if you like the following:

  • Problem solve and organize
  • Plan, test, and debug systems
  • Implement solutions.

What you would do

Create and install databases that track inventory, sales, and other important records; may design security functions. Create applications that will pull data and display to a browser or window, or feed into other applications.

Job Titles

Junior Database administrator, systems administrator, database designer, database programmer.
